CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility

We are always pleased to be involved in the community outside of business and to provide specialist and/or financial help where we can.

Vital Accommodation

We are very proud to be involved with a number of projects helping to provide much needed accommodation for vulnerable people.

This includes the Foundation 200 project – a pledge to provide 200 modular homes for homeless people over the next 5 years, being delivered through the Hill Group Foundation. We have also worked on the acoustic design of the Ferry Project in Wisbech; an expansion of the existing accommodation to provide additional safe spaces for those in need.

Everyone deserves a safe and comfortable place to call home and we are pleased to be involved with these innovative projects – offering people a vital facility, as well as a chance to rebuild their lives.

Charity Cycle Event

Cass Allen were delighted to be part of SDC’s 50th anniversary events and entered a team into their version of ‘Le Tour’. Anthony Coraci, James Hart and James Geary took part in a cycle ride around the beautiful countryside surrounding Granta Park, taking in parts of Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex. They all put in an amazing effort and successfully completed the 25 mile circuit. Their participation and efforts were a brilliant contribution to SDC’s chosen charities – Age UK and Road Victim’s Trust. Well done team!

Ukrainian Refugee Accommodation

We were pleased to assist with the planning application and design of the conversion of the disused upper floors of the Leeds Building Society premises in Peterborough to offer accommodation to refugees of the conflict.

The site was granted planning permission in August 2022 enabling the site to provide accommodation for up to 6 families.

South Quay Plaza Charity Tower Climb

Cass Allen were delighted to be invited to take part in Berkeley Homes’ charity tower climb in aid of The Berkeley Foundation. The charity aims to help young people in London and the south of England overcome barriers, improve their lives and build a fairer society.

Two of our bravest consultants – Ronny and James – took on the challenge to climb all 68 storeys of the newly built South Quay Plaza tower (that’s over 200m vertically!) faster than the competition. Not only did our team achieve first place in the ‘Teams of Two’ category with a time of 09:04:78, they also raised a fantastic £600.00 for The Berkeley Foundation!

Charity Golf Day ‘Loudest Drive’ Competitions

We are delighted to have been involved in many charity golf days, sponsoring the unique ‘Loudest Drive’ competition. Most recently hosted by Taylor Wimpey, Ingleton Wood and Berkeley Homes, who have lead the way in raising money for a variety of charities.

If you are interested in us hosting a competition at your next charity golf day contact us.

The George Tavern

The George Tavern is long-standing a popular live-music venue in London’s East End. It was threatened with having to stop live music due to proposals to develop a block of flats adjacent to the stage area. Due to the limited funds with which to contest the proposals Cass Allen joined a team of professionals from other disciplines working pro bono to assess the developers proposals.

Following acoustic surveys it became clear that the proposals were unworkable acoustically and Cass Allen gave evidence to this effect at the Planning Hearing. In view of the acoustic problems with the scheme planning permission was refused and the George Tavern continues to be one of the most renowned live music venues in London.
