Cass Allen have been assisting a leading horse trainer in Newmarket with a planning application associated with cutting edge equestrian training equipment, in response to noise concerns from neighbours and the local Environmental Health department.

A detailed assessment of the proposed equipment and facilities was carried out by Senior Consultant Neil Morgan. Significant noise sources associated with the treadmill in operation were the motor, treadmill mechanism (e.g. rollers), the horse’s hooves and two large cooling fans at the front of the unit.

Following advice on the construction and operation of the facilities, the objections were successfully resolved and the application was approved.
