King’s Cross Central Regeneration
Cass Allen are delighted to carry out the acoustic design and testing at one of the most exciting large new developments in London.
The site covers 67 acres and is transforming what was industrial wasteland into a thriving new hub – with its own brand new postcode to match!
The first buildings to be developed are W1 and W2 with W1 offering 140 studio, one, two, three bed and penthouse apartments and W2 offering 78 social rented, intermediate and open market apartments. Both W1 and W2 blocks also comprise a number of retail and amenity uses at the lowest floors including a podium garden. The properties will also meet a Code for Sustainable Homes rating of 4 or higher.
This development is part of the wider redevelopment of the King’s Cross area and is bounded on 2 sides by some of the busiest railway lines in the UK. The challenge will therefore be to ensure appropriate noise environments are provided for occupants to sleep and relax whilst working within the design and aesthetic aspirations for the site.
