At this moment the tallest prefabricated building in the world is a 32-storey block in New York.

But this is set to change as Cass Allen Associates have been appointed by Tide Construction to carry out continuous noise and vibration monitoring during the construction of the NEW world’s tallest modular tower in Croydon.

On completion, the 101 George Street development will comprise two towers at 44-storeys and 38-storeys. The development will contain 550 apartments with a total construction time of just 24 months.

The modules will be shipped from a factory in Bedford with the electricity prewired and plumbing, furniture and windows already installed. This type of prefabricated building work is considered to have the potential to make cities more affordable to reside in.
